Transcend Education’s First Half of 2026
The first half of 2026 marked an exciting period of growth for Transcend Education as we deepened our commitment to preparing young people and educators for a rapidly evolving future. Guided by our belief that education should extend beyond the classroom, we continued creating opportunities that build confidence, develop practical skills, and connect learning with real-world possibilities.
Across the first six months of the year, our programmes focused on three key priorities: strengthening career readiness, expanding experiential learning, and equipping educators to deliver future-focused education. Through strategic partnerships, mentorship, skills development, and community engagement, we continued helping learners move from potential to possibility.
Preparing Students for Life Beyond the Classroom
One of our major milestones was the launch of the P2P University Programme in partnership with Chess in Slums Africa (CISA). Developed in response to the growing gap between academic achievement and workplace readiness, the programme provides tertiary students with the practical guidance, mentorship, and professional exposure often missing from traditional education.
Our inaugural cohort of 20 university students embarked on a structured virtual learning journey combining career development workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and industry engagement. Participants strengthened essential employability skills through sessions on professional foundations, CV writing, interview preparation, communication, and personal branding while gaining access to career mentors, internship opportunities, and professional networks.
More than a training programme, P2P University is building a sustainable pathway that connects education with employment, helping young people navigate the transition from university to meaningful careers with greater confidence.
Turning Career Aspirations into Real-World Experience
We also completed Phase 3 of the Pathways to Possibility (P2P) Programme, providing over 700 secondary school students with practical experiences that brought their career aspirations to life. As a way of rewarding active participants, 4 winners were selected and would proceed to Phase 3.
Throughout the programme, students participated in interactive workshops covering critical thinking, decision-making, public speaking, presentation skills, and other essential life competencies. These sessions created safe and engaging spaces where participants developed confidence, strengthened communication skills, and built the foundation for lifelong learning.
To complement classroom learning, students visited organisations aligned with their career interests, giving them firsthand exposure to professional environments. Participants interested in healthcare, for example, visited hospitals and medical laboratories where they interacted with professionals and gained practical insight into careers in medicine.
The phase concluded with certificates and recognition awards celebrating each participant’s commitment and growth. At the same time, mentorship activities continue into the next phase to support their long-term academic and professional development.
Strengthening the Educators Who Shape Tomorrow
Recognising that transformative education begins with empowered teachers, Transcend Education partnered with leading education organisations to host the Teach Forward Summit 2.0, bringing together 126 teachers in Abuja for a day of learning, collaboration, and professional development.
Held in partnership with Fassara Education and Glisten International Academy, the summit focused on equipping educators with modern teaching strategies suited to today’s rapidly changing classrooms. Our Founder, Danielle Perez, encouraged participants to rethink and retool their approaches to teaching, emphasising the importance of future-ready education systems that prioritise adaptability, creativity, and student-centred learning.
Interactive breakout sessions explored topics including culturally responsive pedagogy, positive classroom partnerships, storytelling, and innovative student engagement techniques.
To extend the impact beyond the event, five outstanding teachers were selected for an intensive mentorship programme led by renowned education leader, CEO and Board Chair of Teenee Todds & Broadoaks British School and an Advisory Board Member at Transcend Education, Eni Ogon, reinforcing our commitment to sustained professional growth.
Looking Ahead
As we continue through 2026, Transcend Education remains focused on expanding access to quality learning experiences that prepare young people and educators for the future.
In the months ahead, we are preparing for our flagship Career Fair, which will bring together students, employers, universities, development organisations, and industry leaders to create meaningful connections between education and opportunity. The event will provide career exploration, networking, mentorship, and recruitment opportunities while strengthening partnerships that support youth development across Nigeria. We are currently welcoming corporate sponsors, CSR partners, universities, employers, NGOs, startups, and exhibitors who share our vision of empowering the next generation.
